How Much Better Can This Get?
The Night of Organs has been one of Philharmonia Hungary’s largest and most popular events for years. On this special evening, nearly every organ in the country resonates, while organists from around the world join in, with many Hungarian musicians performing abroad and numerous international artists traveling to Hungary. Organizing this grand event each year is no small feat, and the question always arises: how can we surprise you?

This year’s highlight programs revolve around the spirit of giving, encores, and generosity. Take José Cura, for example—though not an organist, he joins Szabolcs Szamosi as a vocalist, performing their program twice in just a few hours in two different cities: at 5 PM in Komárno and 9 PM in Budapest.

While they perform at Matthias Church, the organ of the Liszt Academy will also come to life in an exceptional way! Two internationally acclaimed organists, Christian Schmitt from Germany and Vincent Dubois from France, will perform three monumental organ concertos alongside Concerto Budapest- works that are rarely heard, even individually, let alone all three in one night, with two world-renowned soloists. This spectacular event will also serve as the grand finale of Philharmonia’s Unikum concert series, where orchestral performances culminate in a tribute to the “Queen of Instruments”.

Can this be taken to a higher level? Certainly! After the concert, the two soloists won’t leave just yet- they’ll stay for an exclusive encore performance at 11 PM, this time without the orchestra!

This is just a glimpse of the hundreds of extraordinary programs happening throughout the event. Take a look around-you won’t want to miss it!
