Franz Liszt International Piano Competition
Budapest
Jury
Olga Kern
Pianist
Russian-American pianist Olga Kern is now recognized as one of her generation's great pianists. She jumpstarted her U.S. career with her historic Gold Medal win at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas as the first woman to do so in more than thirty years.
Balázs János
Pianist
János Balázs is a Kossuth Prize-winning Hungarian pianist and a regular performer at world-class music venues, also artistic director of the György Cziffra Memorial Year and Festival.
Viktoria Postnikova
pianist
Viktoria Postnikova was born in Moscow into a family of musicians. She entered the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory at the age of six, studying under E.B. Musaelian, and later continued her education — including postgraduate studies — with the renowned Professor Yakov Flier.
Barry Douglas
Pianist
Barry Douglas launched his international career after winning the Gold Medal at the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow. He is Artistic Director of Camerata Ireland — the all-Ireland chamber orchestra — and the Clandeboye Festival, combining his Irish heritage with an extensive global concert schedule. He has performed with major orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lille, Nuremberg Symphony and Staatskapelle Halle, and has appeared in leading venues from the Royal Albert Hall and the Verbier Festival to major concert halls across China, Europe and North America.
