Tímea Iván

violin

As a university student, she was a prize winner of the national Karoly Flesch Violin Competition, the Hungarian Radio National Violin Competition, and the Leo Weiner Chamber Music Competition, as well as being a founder of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.

She pursued her postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Sandor Vegh, and later became his Teacher Assistant.

Between 1986 and 2001 she performed all over the world with the Camerata Academica Salzburg as a section leader, concertmaster, artistic director, and soloist.

From 2002 she is section leader in the Budapest Festival Orchestra. It is her belief that every form of playing music together is chamber music, a dialogue between the artists, and she would like to make this happen during this concert too.
